How come other piano teacher can teach students play sonatas during their four years or less of playing piano?

I recently got a piano instructor job for the first time, and some of my students who are playing piano for three to four years cant play sonatas or even harder piano pieces? What are those teacher’s techniques without being rude/mean to students? and please give me some proper answers tnx

How can I convince my parents that I enjoy piano but don’t like keyboarding?

Whenever I go to my piano classes, I am simply captivated when my teacher plays music on the piano. However, I only have a $100 keyboard that we bought 4 years ago. Even if I try my hardest a play the music perfectly, it never sounds good. When I go back and play it for my teacher, I play with very poor dynamics and peddling, and it sounds plain.

I tried explaining this to my parents when I lost interest in practicing piano, but my mom told me that if I really liked it, I would play on even the keyboard.

Please help me convince!
They can afford me one, trust me. It’s just that they think that I really don’t like the music that I play, which is only half true. That’s why they are unwilling to buy an real piano.

Can I teach myself to play piano?

I know how to read alto clef

Can I learn violin without having to hurt my piano fingers?

I’ve been playing piano since high school and played classical pieces. I’m wondering if my fingers get injured or dexterity loss on piano if I learn to play violin. I expect an advice from a classical pianist. You know, I wont risk my dexterity. If playing violin affects dexterity, then I wouldn’t mind learning it.
Please give me some advise as I’m planning to get a violin next week.
Thanks.

how do you convert piano music to viola?

I have all these piano songs, but I play viola and I would like to put them to good use. Could someone help?

Chopin Etude Op 10 No 1 / Debussy Arabesque 1 – Calvin Lee, MD

Chopin Etude Op. 10 No. 1 / Debussy Arabesque No. 1 | Calvin Lee – Surgeon & Acupuncturist, living in Modesto, CA.

I work with Plastic Surgeon Dr. Tammy Wu in her Plastic Surgery & Wellness Center where I perform acupuncture, general surgery, and vein procedures.

If you’re looking for my violin “video” it’s the other one that says “Calvin Lee Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.”

It’s basically my violin playing sound track set to a bunch of distracting pictures. Orchestra on the sound track is the Brown University Orchestra back in the early 1990′s (yikes!) The pictures are from about a year ago. Nevermind that video, focus on this one!

This video was specifically made for the Van Cliburn Amateur Piano Contest on YouTube.

I try to apply what I know from the violin to my piano practice. I’ve had great violin teachers. I’m pretty new to piano (just got the piano 2 years ago), so all comments and criticisms appreciated. I did play a bit as a child before I could even reach octaves, but my teacher thought it was best that I stopped piano and focus on violin – well, I took that advice and stopped piano (also before I could reach octaves) and did just that – focused on violin. Through time (sadly decades) the piano just disappeared from my life.

Don’t get me wrong. I love the violin. But now I want to make up for lost time on the piano. I’ve had three lessons so far since starting piano again. I’ve been mainly practicing on my own at odd hours.

Thanks to everyone who has commented and encouraged me.
