I played the Violin for two years (8-9 yrs old). I am now 19 and I want to start playing it..FYI…I was forced to quit, and I am mad about it.
Also, I do have music experience (sight reading, notes, melody, etc.) because I have been singing since I was 8 years old.
since I have music experience, how long or how difficult would it be if I took up the Violin again.
Theres a music video i’ve seen recently with girls playing the violin in it, its quite upbeat and i think the song might be on an advert as well.

I’m a first year violin student and having a lot of trouble keeping my upper arm still while playing. For the last few months I’ve been letting it go nuts and my teacher just now decides to correct me on it :/ Any tips??
I play the violin and at school were playing two pieces that are 4 pages each. For some reason when I’am position of playing for a long time my shoulders start to hurt really bad. If I go to rest position it stops soon but I can’t really do that in the middle of the piece.
I keep sliding the bow onto the fret board/neck or whatever it’s called, but I am holding it right. I used to play violin when I was in school, but now I haven’t played for a couple of years so I’m not really used to it anymore. I read somewhere that you aren’t supposed to look at your fingers when you’re playing, does that mean that you are supposed to look at the bow? sorry if none of this makes sense.
I’ve had my first violin lesson today and he basically taught me the basics and stuff. When do you have to turn the bow while playing the violin?

I’m a 19 year old guy, busy studying at University and I really want to start playing the violin. The sound of a violin just sounds so awesome! Any tips on where I should go from wanting to play the violin to actually playing it? What violin size do you recommend for an average sized person? Any advice appreciated! =D
